Town Releases FY2018 Town Budget Proposal
Posted on Thursday June 22, 2017
The Town of Atoka released its proposed budget for the fiscal year 2018 on Thursday, June 22. The $9.3 million dollar budget maintains the Town's current, lowest-in-the-region municipal property tax rate while investing heavily in infrastructure and public safety. The Town's fiscal year 2018 begins on July 1, 2017.
The Town of Atoka's proposed 2018 Town budget continues an ongoing commitment to public safety, improved infrastructure and public services that continue to make Atoka a great place to call home. The budget funds regular operations of the Town - including Police, Fire, Parks, Code Enforcement and Public Works - while also allocating funds for capital expenditures including the Atoka Greenway Trail project - Phase II, intersection improvements at Atoka-Idaville and Rosemark Roads and new vehicles for the Police, and Public Works Departments.

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved the FY2018 budget on first consideration at their regular meeting on June 13, 2017. A public hearing and final consideration will be held on June 27, 2017 beginning at 6:45 pm.
